One of Many Miracles.....
At the time of her death mother proved to her family; what we knew all along. She was tops!
She really, "fought the good fight of faith."
She had a stroke and ended up semi conscious. She could not swallow when she would come to
and could just mutter mostly. At times she would recognize us and squeeze our hand to answer yes or no.
On about the seventh day after her stroke Pastor Causwel came over. We were in the cafeteria when he got there, so he went into her room and talked to her and prayed for her before coming to find us in the cafeteria. He told us he did not if she knew he was there. We had circle prayer for her then and prayed if it was the Lord's will; He would heal her or if not that He would just take her home soon in peace.
Pastor Causwel went home after visiting awhile. We went back into her room. She talked to us for fifteen minutes almost normally. She told us not to cry for her that she knew it was time for her to go home.
(since our Dad had passed away about 14 years ago mom had always said she wanted to go home.) She even try ed to sing Jesus loves Me and Amazing Grace and etc. with us and did a fairly good job of it; before elapsing back into semi consciousness again. We all that were in the room recognized this as the work of the Holy Spirit. The younger ones said they felt the presence of His Spirit. They said it was an experience that they weren't going to forget.
As I had signed up for Hospice, they moved her back to the nursing home. She passed away peacefully
about two weeks after her stroke.
I need to edit this again I have mistakes on it that I thought I changed before I posted it...now I do not know how to get it changed.....Hope you will excuse the errors that I would have changed if I knew how if you are reading this.
ReplyDeleteWhat a nice surprise to find that you have a blogspot now. This is a beautiful story. My Dad only woke up once after his surgery and it happened after I went back home. As soon as my sister called, I left work and drove back to Daytona Beach. When I got there, he was unconscious again. I knew he was going home, but I prayed to the Lord to let me see Dad's beautiful eyes just one more time. (If you want to see what beautiful eyes he had, just look at my sister, Sally - same eyes). I would have given the world to have had what you got to have with your Mom, but it was not to be. But, when the Lord took Dad home, I was the only one in the room. The rest of my family was in the cafeteria. At the moment Daddy left, he opened his eyes wide. God gave me that.
